چکیده

The aim of this study was to evaluate the rapidly growing use of Nd:YAG 1064 nm lasers for laser lipolysis, and to compare this wavelength with other wavelengths used for laser lipolysis in terms of safety and efficacy. The wavelength dependence of laser lipolysis was simulated using a Monte Carlo computer simulation. The results show that the Nd:YAG 1064 nm wavelength is the optimal wavelength for laser lipolysis in terms of safety and efficacy. Compared with other wavelengths, the 1064 nm wavelength exhibits the largest directly heated volume of subcutaneous tissue and has the smallest undesirable thermal effect on neighboring dermal tissue. The pulsed QCW mode of operation of the Nd:YAG laser also has a significantly higher ability to coagulate blood vessels when compared to continuous wave (CW) diode lasers. The high performance and versatility of the latest technology Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser lipolysis systems, combined with their optimal safety and efficacy, make these lasers the medical devices of choice.

Histologic evaluation of laser lipolysis: pulsed 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser versus cw 980-nm diode laser.

BACKGROUND The use of the laser as an auxiliary tool has refined the traditional technique for lipoplasty. During laser lipolysis, the interaction between the laser and the fat produced direct cellular destruction before the suction, reduced bleeding, and promoted skin tightening. OBJECTIVE This study sought to perform a comparative histologic evaluation of laser lipolysis with the pulsed 106...

High power VCSEL array pumped Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers

Solid-state lasers pumped by high-power two-dimensional arrays of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) were investigated. Both end-pumping and side-pumping schemes of Nd:YAG lasers with high power kW-class 808 nm VCSEL pump modules were implemented. For one application 10 mJ blue laser pulses were obtained from a frequencydoubled actively Q-switched VCSEL-array dual side-pumped Nd:Y...

Treatment of Superficial Cutaneous Vascular Lesions: Experience with the Long-Pulsed 1064 nm Nd:YAG Laser

Recent published studies evaluating the long-pulsed 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser for superficial cutaneous vascular lesions have limited subjects and optimal treatment parameters have not been established. To determine the efficacy and safety of the long-pulsed 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser on superficial cutaneus vascular lesions and analyse retrospectively our experience of a 3-year period are the aims of thi...

Investigation of Effective Parameters on Pulsed Nd:YAG Passive Q-Switched Laser

In this paper, we report the experimental results of a pulsed flash lamped Nd:YAG laser at wavelength of 1064 nm and Qswitched by Cr4+:YAG solid state saturable absorber. We have obtained the output energy (E) and pulse-width ( p τ ) of this laser for various initial transmissions of this saturable absorber. Furthermore, the effect of reflectivity of the output coupler (R), diameter of the rod ...
